As the National Park Service faces an astonishing price tag to repair all aspects of the park, coupled with impending budget constraints, care of the trails, campgrounds, and overlooks are falling to the bottom of the long list of priorities. That means, the places you enjoy nature on the Parkway desperately need your help!
You can protect the outdoor experiences that are at the heart of the Blue Ridge Parkway experience with a gift to the new Trails & Views Forever Fund. Your donation will revitalize trails, picnic areas, campgrounds, overlooks, and additional amenities that allow us to immerse ourselves in the natural beauty of the Parkway. To kick off the effort, a generous donor has offered a challenge grant of $300,000, but we have only a few months to match the gift. It is an “all or nothing” challenge, which means if we don’t raise $300,000 by the deadline, we forfeit the gift. This is an amazing opportunity to leap forward toward our long-term goal of $3 million for the Trails & Views Forever Fund.
The fund will:
- Rehabilitate Parkway trails
- Restore iconic Parkway views by managing plant growth at overlooks
- Repair campgrounds and picnic areas
- Engage volunteers, including youth conservation groups, in the care of these places
- Enhance signage, educational opportunities, and restrooms
Please make a gift today! You can help us meet the challenge and ensure that the Parkway remains a beloved place to immerse yourself in the beauty of this breathtaking landscape.
Plus, gifts of $1,000 or more will be recognized with a limited edition patch. Your name will also be listed on Trails & Views Forever donor recognition boards at Graveyard Fields, Craggy Gardens, Rough Ridge, Price Lake, Peaks of Otter, and Humpback Rocks on the Parkway, and in our annual report.
Help protect the national park you love. You can make it possible to meet this all-or-nothing $300,000 match.
