In honor of the National Park Service’s centennial year, the Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation is teaming up with 17 Asheville-area breweries for special "Find Your Pint" beer releases and fundraising events throughout August and September to benefit the Blue Ridge Parkway. Each brewery is honoring the National Park Service in an exciting way.
Sierra Nevada will tap Blue Ridge Red in the brewery’s Taproom and Restaurant in Mills River and the brew will be on tap all week with $1 from every pint sold donated to the Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation.
The Beer: Blue Ridge Red is a hoppy red ale brewed with local wildflower honey. This hop-forward ale is brewed in honor of the rugged mountain terrain that surrounds our local stretch of the Blue Ridge Parkway, but the added malt body and honey smooth out the aggressive hops just as the Parkway makes a visit through the storied peaks pleasurable and smooth for all who travel it.
