Summary

The Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation, a 501(c)(3), is seeking a qualified Administrative Manager to work with the Chief Executive Officer (CEO) and a motivated team dedicated to safeguarding the future of the Blue Ridge Parkway. This person will assume responsibility for efficient day-to-day operations of the office, managerial functions including human resources, and assistance to the CEO. This is a new position and has the potential for advancement in title and salary depending on the success of the candidate.

Key Responsibilities

Work closely with Chief Executive Officer (CEO), Chief Development Officer, Director of Finance, and Program Directors to:

  • Conduct Human Resources administration including management, benefits administration, recordkeeping, and compliance
  • Answer incoming calls and handle or delegate in a manner consistent with the values of the Foundation
  • Maintain and update internal organizational policies, personnel manual, and volunteer manual
  • Research, coordinate, and follow through with logistics for triannual board meetings and events
  • Coordinate and provide logistical support for community events, fundraising events, and mailings
  • Provide support for all administrative operations
  • Provide assistance and support to the CEO
  • Maintain current supplies of office and event materials
  • Perform other duties as assigned

Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent related experience and/or training preferred
  • Experience with nonprofit organizations or similar work environment
  • 2-5 years of administrative or related experience
  • Enthusiasm for the mission-driven work of the Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation
  • Strong interpersonal skills and ability to work closely with dedicated team
  • Exceptional planning and organizational skills
  • Excellence in communicating with the public, board members, donors, and volunteers
  • Event management and logistics experience
  • Excellence in writing and proofreading
  • Ability to multitask and prioritize assignments
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office

Starting Salary: Commensurate with experience, plus health insurance and 401K benefits
