Honors and memorials
The eternal cycles of life and powerful landscapes of the Blue Ridge Parkway have inspired and given comfort to millions of travelers in the Appalachians. Whether from one visit or a lifetime of adventure, a first view of an extraordinary sunrise over a cloud laden valley, or an evening around a campfire, Parkway experiences have often led to a life-long affection for this engineering marvel.
The Blue Ridge Parkway's memorial program was created for those who wish to honor loved ones and friends who have enjoyed a deep personal connection to the Parkway. Gifts to the Foundation in memory of a friend or family member honor not only that person's unique experience of the Parkway, but help sponsor Parkway projects of lasting value.
The Foundation accepts memorial donations of all sizes in the following ways:
- Gifts are acknowledged to the donor as well as to a family member as requested
- Memorial names are listed in the Foundation's journal, The Scenic, immediately following the gift
- Memorial gifts of $5,000 may be used to establish an endowment fund, recognizing an(a) individual(s) for perpetuity
