l-r: Sparkie Sparkman (retiring manager of the Bluffs Lodge), his wife Margaret Sparkman receiving a placque honoring their years of service from Rick Wyatt (chief of concessions for the Blue Ridge Parkway) at the Bluffs Celebratory Dinner on November 6, 2004.
Sparkie and his wife retired from managing the Bluffs Lodge after 44 years of service in the restaurant management field. A special celebratory dinner was held by the Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation honoring the employees of the Bluffs, whose combined years of service totaled over 499 years. |
