Waterrock Knob Visit Center Dedication |
| Notes |
The very first capital improvement project for the Blue Ridge Parkway Foundation was the conversion of the existing shelter/restroom facility to an enclosed seasonal visitor center. The project was completed with the local effort of the maintenance staff at the Balsam Gap Maintenance Area. The exhibit designer was Chad Young. Dr. Ritchie Bell, author of Wildflowers of North Carolina, was the featured guest speaker.
The ceremony was followed by a reception at the Balsam Mountain Inn. Hill Country Band played for the dedication ceremony and reception. |
